Approach: I am a physiotherapist in Brazil. I have more than 2 years of experience with prevention and follow-up, and rehabilitation of climbers. I have also been climbing for 4 years. I am the physiotherapist for the following athletes: Pedro Avelar and Clara Viegas, of the Brazilian Climbing Junior Team. I have been their physiotherapist for 1 and a half years, during which time neither of them have been forced to stop climbing because of pain or injury.
I use a specific assessment for climbers based entirely on scientific evidence and perform monitoring that also counts on thermal analysis (allowing the visualization of asymmetries before the symptoms even manifest themselves). I believe we should start working with prevention rather than rehabilitation, so the climbers are able to continue climbing and evolve even more, leading the world of climbing to new levels.
